History

How it all began –
and what defines us to this day

Every story begins with an idea. At VDP, it was the ambition not to shy away from technical challenges, but to tackle them head-on – with craftsmanship, engineering expertise, and the determination to make things better than before.

Since its founding in 2003, VDP has evolved step by step: from its initial projects in steel construction to becoming a specialized partner for sophisticated solutions in rail-bound passenger and freight transport.

What has always remained the same is our attitude. We prioritize precision over compromise, experience over shortcuts, and solutions that prove themselves in daily operation. Our history is not an end in itself – it is the foundation for everything we do today and envision for tomorrow. Because progress does not happen overnight; it grows with every project, every challenge, and every person who takes responsibility.

  • 2003Founding

The foundation for VDP is laid in Hagen im Bremischen. With the goal of providing practical solutions for technical challenges in steel construction and mechanical engineering, the company starts as a reliable partner for custom designs.
  • 2003Focus on Special-Purpose Machinery

In its very first year, VDP begins developing and designing special-purpose machinery. Custom solutions, precisely tailored to the respective application, quickly become a central part of the service portfolio.
  • 2011Entry into Steel Trough Production

By starting the production of steel troughs for rail systems, VDP strategically expands its range of services for rail-bound transport and strengthens its expertise in track construction.
  • 2012On-Site Service

The first in-house designed container blasting unit is deployed. It enables mobile rail processing directly on the construction site, bringing greater flexibility and efficiency to project implementation.
  • 2016Further Development of Rail Processing

With the development and deployment of the first mobile rail blasting unit, VDP further expands its expertise in precise and cost-effective rail processing.
  • 2018Expertise in the ERS System

VDP handles the professional installation of steel troughs and rails in the ERS system directly on-site. Planning, manufacturing, and implementation integrate seamlessly.
  • 2018Growth at the Hagen Site

Plant 2 in Hagen im Bremischen is commissioned following the acquisition of additional production space. The expanded capacities create room for further growth and new manufacturing possibilities.
  • 2018Technical Expansion

With the acquisition of a plasma cutting system, VDP invests specifically in modern manufacturing technology, increasing precision and efficiency in steel processing.
  • 2019Precast Concrete Parts for Track Systems

The production of precast concrete parts for track systems complements the existing portfolio. Steel and concrete solutions can now be combined even more closely.
  • 2022In-House Grouting Technology

VDP develops and builds its first proprietary grouting machines for the mechanical processing of epoxy, polyurethane, polysulfide, and hybrid materials – designed for robust use on construction sites.
  • 2024Custom Machinery Solutions

The development and construction of customer-specific special-purpose machinery, including grouting machines and crawler undercarriages, underscore VDP's role as a flexible solution provider for demanding applications.
  • 2025Expansion of Production Capacities

Plant 2 is expanded with a new production hall. With the additional space, VDP creates the conditions for future projects and further sustainable growth.
  • 2026Introduction of Laser Cutting System

Acquisition of a new state-of-the-art laser cutting system to improve our production processes.

Shaping the Future Together

We are looking for people who take initiative

Our history is defined by progress – and written by people who want to make a difference together. At VDP, we don't just think in terms of steel and concrete, but in terms of ideas, team spirit, and responsibility.
Whether on the construction site, in production, or in the office:
We don't just build structures; we build the future. Become part of a team that sticks together, thinks ahead, and keeps the world on track.
